Lights On Afterschool is a nationwide initiative to raise awareness of the importance of afterschool programming. To celebrate, we gathered the kids, talked about the importance of BAP, and then highlighted that importance by letting them pick two classes on something they wanted to learn. We had classes in tinkering (building simple circuits), cooking, creative design (making box monsters), chess, escape room (puzzles and team building), and crafts (pearler beads). Kids got to participate in two classes that were all aimed at highlighting how afterschool programming can make learning fun!
