Introducing Scott Lan

Dear Cameron House Community

We are excited to introduce Cameron House’s next Executive Director, Scott Lan. Scott’s first day will be April 22, 2024, and he will be on-site Monday-Friday.

Scott understands the importance of Cameron House’s Presbyterian roots and faith-based legacy and is committed to supporting and strengthening them. Additionally, Scott is a teacher by trade and has coached teachers, administrators, and school districts that serve mostly under-resourced communities. He knows how to work with parents, caregivers and has successfully navigated complex government systems while creating, building, and scaling youth programs. At his most recent position as Chief Program Officer, he led a team of 52 program staff and co-managed a $16+M budget to execute a portfolio of 42 programs, impacting over 800 job seekers annually.

Attached, please find a personally written letter of introduction from Scott, along with a letter from the Transition Search Committee, and the Board of Directors with more details and information on Scott.

Many thanks to our dedicated Transition Search Committee who worked diligently during this six month process: Board members, Robert Lim, Connie Chern, Amari Thomas, Staff member, Yulanda Kwong, Community members, Craig Lee and Sing Quan, and additional advisement from Staff member, Bill Vigna. We are also grateful for the Arora Collective, our leadership search consultant, for their invaluable guidance and support.

Special thanks and gratitude to Dr. Bhupendra Sheoran for his exceptional leadership as our Interim Executive Director these last few months. Sheoran will be staying on until May 1st to ensure a seamless transition with Scott, and we hope that he will continue to be an integral part of our community in the future.

Lastly, thank you to our caring and concerned community for your support during this transition period. We are elated to begin this next phase in Cameron House history.

Sincerely,
Cameron House, Board of Directors
