Board Member
Lauren Chen currently serves as the Program and Evaluation Director at SF nonprofit Enterprise for Youth, connecting young jobseekers to workforce development opportunities. While Lauren is a native New Yorker, she always held fond memories of summer breaks in San Francisco due to deep, multi-generational family roots on the West Coast. Prior to her work in the nonprofit sector, Lauren worked in the NYC School District, the nation's largest, at several public charter schools K-8, leading academic operations initiatives to close the achievement gap for traditionally underrepresented communities. She holds a BS in Human Development and English from the State University of New York at Binghamton. In her free time, Lauren enjoys dancing and planning road trips.
Lauren's work is informed by a strong belief in the value of experiential learning and the desire to bridge gaps between theory and practice. She proudly identifies as Chinese American and is a deep advocate for recognition and inclusion of diverse AAPI voices, perspectives and interests at multiple policy levels. Lauren is excited to join Cameron House's Board of Directors to further champion and amplify the important services CH has and continues to provide to generations of the San Francisco Chinese community.
