Vision 2030: Our Strategic Plan

Cameron House: Still Making History

This Strategic Plan process was unprecedented in Cameron House’s history. It involved focus groups, collaborative community gatherings, staff and program participant surveys, and meetings big and small. Those who weighed included Chinatown neighbors and business owners, fellow nonprofit leaders, our full executive staff, and our full Board of Directors, led by Tom Hayashi and Jeanette Au of the Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit Leadership in Marin. This months-long endeavor saw to fruition a stunning roadmap that we all can agree on. With these goals in mind, we’re moving forward together, onward and upward.

A Big Step, A Shared Community, An Important Collaboration

One exciting part of the multi-step Strategic Planning process was the Vision 2030: Community Collaboration held in Culberston Hall for the shared community between Cameron House and the Presbyterian Church in Chinatown. The plenary of the event included a panel discussion led by both faith- and community leaders: Rev. Harry Chuck (Presbyterian Church in Chinatown and former Cameron House ED); Pastor Don Hammond (Reverend of Presbyterian Church in Chinatown); and Rev. Laura Mariko Cheifetz (Transitional Executive Presbyter of The Presbytery of SF); Liane Wong, Cameron House Board President; Scott Lan, Cameron House CEO, and Ed Chin, PCC Elder and Cameron House Board Member. Thank you to everyone who joined us for Vision 2030: Community Collaboration—your presence, insights, and participation made the gathering a true success.

The attendees of the Vision 2030: Community Collaboration asked a great many thoughtful questions and offered valuable perspective. We feel that those questions and their answers are powerful tools for communication and understanding going forward. We are pleased to them with you here.
