Our Lasting Impact
Cameron House’s impact has reached many lives throughout 150 years. Kim’s story is truly inspiring and an example for many. She lived with her mom at an “SRO” in Chinatown and found a sense of peace, safety, and freedom each time she went to one of our programs.
Friday Night Club and the Bilingual Afterschool Program gave many of these kids something to look forward to. Our alumni often remember the lifelong lessons through the day camp songs such as, “make new friends, but keep the old, one is silver and the other is gold.” These simple lyrics embody our deeper mission: fostering meaningful connections that last a lifetime. Our dedicated teachers nurture more than just activities – they cultivate compassion, encouraging each child to develop empathy and care for others. These early experiences shape our students’ characters, laying the foundation for who they’ll become.
Former students, club leaders, and staff members maintain deep connections years after their time here. These bonds, forged in childhood and strengthened through the years, demonstrate Cameron House’s lasting impact.
