Meet Our Board Members

Ryan Valenzuela

Ryan ValenzuelaRyan is a native San Franciscan and son of immigrant Filipino parents. His worldview is shaped by growing up in San Francisco, living in SoCal (for college), and spending time abroad as an expat in Spain and Italy to do labor economics research with a stint doing food and wine tasting (and education) around Rome, Italy. He eventually found his way in tech working across various roles in talent acquisition & intelligence in his decade long experience growing and cultivating startups and in big tech.

He currently is the founder of Atlas Talent Intelligence helping individuals and early stage startups navigate the talent & labor landscape using data, insights, and talent intelligence. Fun fact, he roasts coffee beans, is too obsessed with espresso machines and third wave coffee.

Carynn Vuong

Carynn Vuong is a second-generation Chinese and Vietnamese American, born and raised in San Francisco.
Growing up, she attended Cameron House programs, which fostered her deep connection to the Chinatown community.

Today, she is a Software Engineer and actively participates in the local Chinese community, volunteering and serving as an advisor on Cameron House’s NextGen board to empower Chinese youth. Her family is rooted across the Bay Area, from Redwood City and Millbrae to San Jose, deepening her ties to the region’s diverse communities.

Passionate about self-improvement, cultural advocacy, and leaving a meaningful social and cultural impact, she strives to uplift others while honoring her roots and is always up for a good challenge.

Neil Chin

Neil is a born and raised San Franciscan, with Chinese American roots. His connection to Chinatown(s) comes from his paternal grandparents, who owned and operated a small business serving the immigrant community in NYC Chinatown.

He hopes that, through NextGen, he can help to cultivate the same multi-generational cultural and personal connection that he was so fortunate to grow up with.Outside of NextGen, Neil works in the climate finance space, building tools and platforms to mobilize investment towards climate solutions. He is a passionate gardener, dog dad, and loves the outdoors!

Marisa Gee

Marisa Gee has been familiar with Cameron House nearly her entire life, from attending carnival as an infant to volunteering and participating in youth programming. As a Bay Area native she’s seen the triumphs and struggles of her community both through an Asian American lens and through issues at large.

She’s excited to see how Next Gen can grow and establish while balancing night shifts at the hospital in the emergency department as a registered nurse in San Francisco. In her spare time she enjoys travel, travel with her dog and spending time with friends and family!
