This year’s service projects include:

  • Join a Chinatown trash pickup in partnership with Civic Joy Fund, helping keep the neighborhood cleaner, more welcoming, and cared for
  • Help distribute food at the Presbyterian Church in Chinatown, supporting low income families with care and dignity through an organized pantry effort
  • Refresh the main office at Chinese Congregational Church with a fresh coat of paint, cleaning, and office tasks, improving an impactful hub used for ministry, meetings, and service
  • Write heartfelt letters to deployed troops with A Million Thanks with stationary and craft supplies in Cameron House’s Culbertson Hall, offering encouragement, gratitude, and connection to American service members far from home
  • Help us get ready for our summer programs by power washing the Cameron House façade, fostering a greater sense of dignity, pride, and care for the low income kids and families who walk through our doors
  • Give the Cameron House van a sudsy thorough car wash, inside and out, so it is clean, refreshed, and ready to support youth programs, community events, and neighborhood service
  • Harvest fresh produce and support the upkeep of Florence Fang Community Farm, extending our service beyond Chinatown in Bayview
  • And, perhaps the most important job of the day, organize, serve, and deliver boxed lunches to the Day of Service volunteers, staff, and community members, keeping them fueled and nourished throughout the day

We’ve renamed our Day of Service to honor Tien Fuh Wu, a leader, icon, and perfect example of someone who served her community with quiet dedication and care. Come add to Tien Fuh Wu’s legacy and support Chinatown. Read more about Tien Fuh Wu here.
