Liane Ma
Manager of Special Projects & Executive Support
Liane Ma serves as Manager of Special Projects at Cameron House, where she works at the intersection of community engagement and institutional strategy. In this role, she supports partnerships, fundraising initiatives, organizational development, and special projects that advance Cameron House’s mission of dignity, belonging, and service for immigrant and youth communities in San Francisco Chinatown.
Liane is a trained social worker, holding degrees from New York University and Columbia University, where her education emphasized ethical formation, trauma-informed practice, and the role of institutions in shaping social outcomes. She brings professional experience across workforce development, organizational culture, and direct service. Prior to Cameron House, she managed large-scale publicly funded programs, overseeing multimillion-dollar budgets and initiatives focused on staff retention, leadership development, and values-driven organizational change. She has also worked in employee engagement and talent development within the technology sector.
Her background includes clinical and crisis-response work as an intake specialist at a domestic violence counseling center in New York, where she was trained in trauma-informed care. These experiences continue to inform her commitment to culturally humble, non-coercive, and human-centered approaches to social change.
At Cameron House, Liane has helped raise significant philanthropic support, organized large-scale community activations, and led public-facing initiatives that honor the legacy and contributions of Chinatown’s leaders.
