We started the New Year with laughter and ice, on Thursday January 12th, when 28 BAP students and 12 adults (parents, YM staff, and chaperones) enjoyed a lively night of ice skating at Union Square.

Seven Tepees Cultural Exchange

Seven Tepees Program Director Arlan Murillo was inspired to plan a cultural exchange after a field trip to Chinatown last year. “After our students came from their visit to Chinatown it hit me, we were playing tourist in our own city.”


Author Roy Chang Visits Cameron House

Roy Chang is a Honolulu-based writer and illustrator, who last year created a comic book featuring Donaldina Cameron, called “Highball and Pepe.” Read about the origins of the comic and his recent Cameron House visit.

Harvest Home Partnership

Our annual Harvest Home service project is in full swing. This project is a collaboration between our Social Services and Youth Ministries. This year’s goal is to raise $4000, which will provide 200 food gift bags filled with culturally suitable Thanksgiving groceries for families in our community. [ donate ]

New year at BAP

Though there are fewer kids than our summer programs, BAP is in full swing and we’re buzzing!  This year we want to build on last years successes, and we’ve made several changes to the BAP program.


Kaiser Permanente Supports Kitchen Medicine

Kitchen Medicine (KM) programs are now focusing on plant based cooking thanks to a generous grant from Kaiser Permanente. KM has big plans in the works including an inter-generational focus, instructional videos, and a cookbook!
